WHAT’S NEXT FOR THIS ESSEX GIRL?

SO, after a month or two of trying to navigate my way around WordPress, This Essex Girl 2.0 has arrived – with a shiny new layout and updated logo to boot. I know, the sassy little thang.

Behind the scenes, I’ve switched my domain hosting from Wix to Site Ground, spent many late nights reformatting all of my posts and become BFF’s with Phil from Pipdig. I probably sound like a total novice saying this, but getting to grips with WordPress is hard, huh? Thanks to the helpful advice The Fairytale Pretty Picture (Alina is an SEO expert and total babe) the process has taken a lot less time than I thought it would, but I still feel like I’ve not blogged for ages! Anyway, I’m glad I’ve made the move and hopefully my template isn’t burning holes into your retinas right now. It’s still not perfect, so if you do spot any glitches, please let me know!

Anyway, enough waffling – I’m up and running, and this coupled with the fact that the evenings are starting to get lighter again (just GLORIOUS) means that there will be heaps more content coming your way soon.

This leads me onto my exciting news: my boyfriend and I have just bought our first house! I know…we actually have a mortgage now *shudders deeply*. After over a year of house hunting (a total rollercoaster of emotions) we knew instantly when we walked in the door to view our new home that this was the place for us! Totally nothing to do with the summer house at the end of the garden, aka casa del guinea pig… Anyway, my weekends are now spent comparing paint samples in an attempt to see which shade of grey has the least blue undertones (yes, really) and becoming a Homebase fan gal. I never launched this blog with interiors content in mind, but naturally some interior posts might crop up along the way, so if that is something you would like to see – holla! I’ve actually shared a mini house tour on Instagram Stories which you can find in my highlights if you fancy a snoop.

Aside from that, I’m continuing to focus on my blogging goals for 2018. In the move to WordPress I’ve actually lost all my subscribers, so if you fancy helping a gal out and resubscribing you will be rewarded with a snazzy newsletter and more exclusive content. This is currently in development but will be coming as soon as I put a paintbrush down for 5 minutes.

Anyway, I’d love to know your thoughts on the new template and hope you’re looking forward to hearing more from this Essex girl!

Firstly, I 100% hear you on the grey-with-no-blue-undertones paint situ. I could tell you the story about how many times my hallway got repainted with grey paint, but its a painful memory that I (my husband) don’t want to revisit…… haha
Your site looks fabulous, your logo amazing, and I look forward to reading all your loveliness xxxx

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
